⚡ ESR to Acquire Aquila Clean Energy APAC’s 1.6 GW Renewables Platform

  • ESR has agreed to acquire Aquila Clean Energy APAC from Germany-based Aquila Group, adding a 1.6 GW portfolio of solar, battery storage and wind assets across Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan. The portfolio includes operational, under-construction and advanced-development projects, expanding ESR’s energy infrastructure capabilities alongside its logistics and data centre businesses. The transaction is subject to customary approvals and is expected to close by Q1 2027.

💧 H2air Acquires Energiequelle’s 500 MW French Renewables Portfolio

  • H2air has acquired Energiequelle SAS, the French subsidiary of Germany-based Energiequelle GmbH, adding around 500 MW of wind and solar projects. The portfolio includes 60 MW of operational assets alongside projects in advanced development, while all Energiequelle SAS employees will transfer to H2air. The acquisition strengthens H2air’s position in the French renewables market, particularly in wind, as Energiequelle refocuses resources on its core markets.

Planted Raises $31.8M to Build Solar Farms with Robots

  • Planted has raised $31.8 million in a round led by Piva Capital and RA Capital Management Planetary Health, with participation from Google, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Gigascale Capital and Khosla Ventures. The startup uses digital twins and robotic installation to build solar farms on uneven terrain with less grading and land, including one project that reduced its footprint by 40%. The funding will scale Planted’s robotic fleet and launch Sage, its next-generation robot designed to more than double field productivity.

Mazama Energy Raises $135M Series B for Superhot Geothermal

  • Mazama Energy has raised $135 million in a Series B led by Centaurus Capital and Doerr Capital, with participation from ConocoPhillips, Shell Ventures, Khosla Ventures and Gates Frontier. The startup is developing superhot rock geothermal systems capable of delivering 24/7 clean power, and holds the record for the hottest engineered geothermal system at 331°C. The funding will advance its technology toward 15 MW per well and support a demonstration of power generation in 2027.
